PunithR 0
I have planned to use cc430f5133 for my project. Please tell me the cheapest programmer available in india for programming this IC.
greeeg 460
TI's MSP-FET is the recommend FET for all MSP430's however it is quite pricey at around $100ish However the TI ez-FET lite supports just as many ICs, typically it is alittle slower. it is the programmer used on the MSP430f5529 dev board. which can be had for less than $20. http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MSP430F5529_LaunchPad You just need to remove the jumper connectors. Then connect the two SBW pins, TCK,TDIO to your cc430f5133. along with GND. PunithR

If you don't need debuging, for flashing can be used BSL with some simple (low cost) glue logic. PunithR

jazz 209
Please elaborate ,how to flash using BSL. and what should i buy for the same. If there is existing UART on PC, any UART / 3.3V logic converter can be used. If there is no existing UART on PC, any USB / UART bridge with 3.3V logic side can be used. Ask google for msp430 BSL schematic. For software on PC side can be used open source BSL Scripter whith prepared scripts for some msp430 devices. http://www.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?baseLiteratureNumber=slau319
PunithR 0
Just now got my MSP430F5529LP today. I tried programming the CC430F5133 in CCS V6.1 ,but showing the following error. MSP430: Error connecting to the target: Unknown device. I selected the device as CC430F5133 and connection as TIMSP430 USB1. Connection to my CC430F5133 target board is as follows: LaunchPad Target Board SBW RST ---->TDIO SBW---> TCK GND----> GND 3.3V----> 3.3V No external supply used for my target board. Please tell me the steps to program in energia or CCS or IAR. Thanks in advance.
Fred 453
Do you have a 47k pullup resistor on the RST line? You will need this, and probably a 1nF capacitor to ground.

MSP430x5xx family has internal 47k pull up on RESET, no need for external one. 1nF cap on RESET line (regarding JTAG / SBW) doesn't improve anything. Fred

That might improve the MSP430F5510 board I'm currently working on. I've got a pull up and it can sometimes be a little finicky to program. It definitely didn't work when I had a 100nF cap by mistake! PunithR 0
please help me.I am unable to program.Showing same error "MSP430: Error connecting to the target: Unknown device."
PunithR 0
voltage at crystal pins are 0.54V.It will be 1.8V initially and will gradually reduce to 0.54V.I have used 3.3V supply from MSP430F5529LP.Please help
Shivkumar 2
The TI CC430 family of ultra-low-power system-on-chip (SoC) microcontrollers with integrated RF transceiver cores consists of several devices that feature different sets of peripherals targeted for a wide range of applications. Well-designed cheap professional programmer, Production of high-density SMD technology, a unified user interface, easy to use, fully functional, reliable program running of application software, ultra-small code -runs faster, supports bilingual.
