Whole thread view with all posts please

Recommended Posts

I would like to be able to view all posts in a thread on a single "page". It is quite 'user unfriendly' to read 5 posts and then to have to click on some icons and load the next few posts..

If the software supports specifying the number of posts displayed, please enable.

Maybe a "print view" does the trick?

If there is a GET parameter that alters default behaviour, please tell.

There may even be some AJAX feature that auto-loads the next few posts into the current page when the window is scrolled to the bottom..

Thank you!

These forums are powered by phpBB and therefore the number of posts on the screen is a setting controlled by the board administrator.

It cannot be managed by the user.

Sorry.

Thanks for taking an interest.

There is a "Print View" icon already, above the search box, right of the "path".

It adds

&view=print

to the URL.

Same thing as bookmarklet:

javascript:(function(){ location.href = location.href + '&view=print'; })();

However, this is only for the current page. It does not show any other posts.

And, of course, formatting is lost. Perhaps this is just style based, so one could enable the regular style for print view?

As a starting point, maybe http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5#p3052813 helps for modifying the system.

I would like to bump this up as I would like to archive a whole project thread (in my case: http://forum.43oh.com/topic/695-consumer-ir-cir-capture/).

It seems the board software has changed to "Community Forum Software by IP.Board", a short tutorial on how to enable those links is given at http://invisionmodding.com/tutorials/article/527-print-send-download-links-in-topic-view/ Note that I am not familiar with this software, I only know that the URI parameters are not effective on this current installation.

I'd appreciate if you could look into this again.

@@none The current no. of posts/page is 20.

I have to keep a balance between page loads and adspace loads for sponsors. 20 seems reasonable so far and that is alot of scrolling too.

Although I do not recommend continuous usage.. if you would like to archive a post, you could use something like HTTrack.
