spirilis 1,265
The largest FRAM LaunchPad yet - https://store.ti.com/msp-exp430fr6989.aspx- $17.99 (128KB FRAM, 2KB SRAM) That one must've snuck in undetected! Similar to the FR4133, this has a built-in LCD. A number of you got FR6989 Target Boards for the "ESI Project" campaign TI did last year, this is that same chip in LaunchPad form, and this has 40-pin XL headers instead of the puny 20-pin headers on the FR4133 and FR5969 launchpads. Tool website - http://www.ti.com/tool/msp-exp430fr6989 It appears to have the eZFET with EnergyTrace. Nice to see they've populated the 40-pin headers *and* the LCD at the same time. zeke 693
Yeah, you're right. This one snuck up on us. It looks like the software examples for the FR6989 arrived on April 17th and the Quickstart guide arrived on April 20th. Sneaky TI'ers. spirilis
zeke 693
I bet there will be some sort of discount when they officially announce this new LP. I have noticed that TI does this regularly. spirilis and bluehash

Stay tuned! Edit: You can buy it for $13.99 now. https://store.ti.com/msp-exp430fr6989.aspx Blog: http://43oh.com/2015/05/ti-launches-the-msp-exp430fr6989-128kb-fram-launchpad-at-a-discount-13-99/
abecedarian 330
Apparently it's now back up to the $17.99 price. Surprising, I guess since I just received an email today (June 21, 2015) stating it was $13.99. But following the links to order, both from the email and from @@bluehash post, it comes up at $17.99. On the upside, shipping costs doesn't change regardless of the quantity ordered.
LIJsselstein 9
A bit late to the party, but I just ordered 3 of these for EUR 10.34 each at Farnell in the normal DEV version. The LAB KIT DEV version sells at EUR 22.59 but I can't spot any differences between the two

But the lab kit includes a set of common components needed if this was your first dive into electronics. It seems to be paired with a udemy course. http://www.element14.com/community/community/learning-center/online-learning/moocs/ti-valparaiso-udemy?ICID=hp-moocsvalparaiso-ban https://www.udemy.com/mcu_msp430/ bluehash and LIJsselstein
