Is the EZ430-F2013 still a thing or is it just not worth it now? Kinda trying to get into MSP so I really don't know. And does it work under linux? I know that the original launchpad programmer doesn't

2K of flash..... meh. Honestly if you want to branch out into MSP430 land I recommend the FRAM chips, FR5969 is sweet. FR4133 has some cool features too although you'll need to use CCS for that (FR5969 has Energia support) and it only has 15KB FRAM. The FRAM offers some uniqueness that makes the platform more interesting IMO.
