CCSv5 and C2000 launchpad - Debugger crashes

Recommended Posts

Thank you all for your help! I am afraid for the inevitable reinstall of my laptop. I need to plan this carefully and in the meantime my linux vm will suffice. Trey, any plans to release a native linux version of control suite?

I am going to start coding! Time for happy things!!!

Kind regards!

Eelco

Yup I tried. Debugging the MSP430 launchpad works without a hitch, but the XDS100 debugger in combination with windows seems to be the culprit in my setup.

I am pretty sure that a complete reinstall of my laptop will solve the problems, but I am not looking forward to that...

Kind regards,

Eelco

Ya, you shouldn't have to reformat your laptop to get the LaunchPad working. Did you try posting to the E2e forum on TI's website? I'm sure we could get the CCS developers to help you out.

Hi Trey,

I haven't been able to post my problem on the e2e forum, but I surely will. I hope they can help me as the reïnstallation of programs like CCS, ISE Webpack, Lattice Diamond, Quartus, Visual Studio and Matlab is a couple of day's work.

As soon as I have a solution, either the reïnstallation or a blessing from the e2e forums, I will post it.

Kind regards!

Eelco

I completely understand as I have most of those on my home PC as well. The E2e forums are typically really good about fixing problems like this. If you don't get a response let me know and I'll pull some strings internally to get it answered ;)

Dear Eelcor

I have a win 7 ultimate 64 bits and until now the launchpad and the soft works very fine.

But at first time I made some settings for the ccs to work.

First, I made a new connection for the debugger. The connection is Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB EMULATOR, for the Board or Device Experimenter Kit Piccolo F28027. And in Connection Properties I put the following:

Board Data File: Auto Generate

Emulator Selection; only one XDS100 installed

In both Boot Mode I put the same thing DISABLE

And the final setting I put Fixed Default 1 MHz.

Before to do the test you must put S1 and Serial with all the buttons UP.

And then Run the Test Configuration. If you have encounter any problem the CCS will not functioning.

The program is CCS Version: 5.2.1.00018

Sorry about my english.

Best regards for all.
