abecedarian 330
Just received mine and the processor shows XM4C1294. So, is TI pushing out more experimental silicon like they did with the LM4F... oops, I mean LX4F Stellaris LP? Don't mean to rant but I ordered TM4, not XM4.
pabigot 355
Yes; mine turns out to be an A1 die revision, which at least doesn't have quite as many ugly errata as the A0 revision. For $20 per board I think we can expect to be beta-testers. spirilis and abecedarian
SixSixSevenSeven 23
I got the notification that it had just shipped yesterday so I guess we'll just have to wait and see what mine says in the end
spirilis 1,265
I'll bet all the ones currently shipping are XM4C since they're probably all part of 1 big production run... and that probably won't change for a while. TM4C129's still only show up as "prototype snowflake A0" on, say, mouser.com.
abecedarian 330
I suppose I shouldn't be too upset. Maybe the XM4C was the last of the experimentals and passed certifications to become production parts...? One can hope. And to be fair, the LM4C did get some revision and peripheral changes before becoming TM4C.
spirilis 1,265
Well you can at least feel good that you have the 2nd revision ... which is probably a big jump from the first one if @@pabigot 's analysis of the errata is accurate (I haven't looked).
abecedarian 330
In other news, I had it connected to the exosite page last night, through a hub connected to my router (same hub this PC is using, BTW), using the default monitoring the "junction temperature" thing, and sometime between then and now it stopped updating and showed "OFFLINE" as status. Pressed the RESET button and it re-connected and is now going good for 17+ minutes. Doesn't speak well for "always connected" devices, does it? Or maybe exosite disconnects devices after some period? Bandwidth is bandwidth, and someone has to pay for it, right?

More like you are exhibiting unrealistic expectations for free code whose source you haven't examined that has been (likely) written in a hurry for experimental silicon just being released RUNON SENTENCE FTW! abecedarian
abecedarian 330
@@spirilis - /me bows down. And on the up side, it's been running 107 minutes and some 30 seconds without issue. *edit- now at 446 minutes. Not sure why it disconnected earlier other than like I said that maybe Exosite is worried about bandwidth. spirilis
greeeg 460
From the launchpad product page, clicking through to the MCU page it does say it's a preview device. I guess it is in TI's best interest not to advertise that fact before potential clients ha e looked over its features. I received mine today and it looks like a A2 die revision.
