bluehash 1,581
I always liked ArmHQ! It'll save you having to change it again anyway. Agree.. will save me alot. 43oh Blog post is here. Short and simple.
dellwoodbu 1
http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/microcontroller/tiva_arm_cortex/c_series/tm4c_arm_cortex-m4/overview.page Tiva MCU overview page. Bluehash, your 43oh blog is not quite accurate. "The part LM4F230H5QR on the Launchpad is still the same, but now changed to TM4C1233GH6PM." The Stellaris LaunchPad has a LM4F120H5QR. The Tiva appears to have a TM4C123GH6PM which appears to be equal to the LM4F230H5QR. This is how Tiva adds motion PWM, QEI and USB host/OTG. Looks like the TI web folks are still tinkering with things, I'd suspect a more formal announcement is coming soon. Datasheets are up http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tm4c123gh6pm.pdf. Bugs note that the title page says "identical to LM4F230H5QR" So they are giving us at least some means to compare to previous numbering. bluehash

Might have to refresh, since the blog is heavily cached.
BRey1426459911 0
TI posted a page that includes the new Launchpad, is the SensorHub booster pack new? http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/microcontroller/tiva_arm_cortex/c_series/tm4c_arm_cortex-m4/tools_software.page

Fred 453
I wonder if we'll see an update to CCS too? The beta of CCS 5.4.0.00048 added support for the latest MSP430s and a few others but obviously no mention of the Tiva. I suppose coding against the equivalent Stellaris part will probably work. Fred 453
Well my Tiva LaunchPad order is now marked as a Stellaris LaunchPad shipped. So either I'm going to be one of the first people with a Tiva or more likely I'll get another Stellaris just before they're superseded. I suppose that does confirm that TI considers them to be equivalent, but if you're thinking of preordering a Tiva them I'd suggest you don't.
Pradeepa 1
no more stellarisware? is tivaware compatible with our old LM4F120XL boards?

I just placed a pre-order for two in order to get the Encoder and PWM features...

Well, I think I know what happened here... you need to add the Tiva board to your wishlist and then order it. I think I saw the picture at the bottom of the page and added it to the cart not realizing that that was a link to the old EK120XL... so now what will I do with two more chicken and bluehash

chicken 630
Delivery date for my Tiva Launchpad was just updated to 6/21/2013... and my Stellaris Launchpad shipped - dooh!
Fred 453
I don't think it was user error. I carefully went through the process of ordering another Tiva Launchpad yesterday and noticed a small message about "order amended due to stock levels" but the order didn't appear to change. I dropped TI support an email so if there's a problem then I'm sure they'll get onto it. My LaunchPad just arrived and as expected it's the usual Stellaris (revision A3) not a Tiva. bluehash
aBUGSworstnightmare 1
Hi, I've just placed an order for two EK-TM4C123GXL at the TI eStore. No delivery date so far. aBUGSworstnightmare
RabidAlpaca 0
So it's more like a new name now the device is out of beta. I wonder when you'll actually be able to order the chips as I don't believe you ever could with the Stellaris. Obviously some idiots will click "buy" without even knowing what they're ordering. I just got an estimated ship date of 30th April. I always liked ArmHQ! It'll save you having to change it again anyway. This is starting to get on my nerves. Why are they focusing on a new product (even if in name), when we can't even buy the original? I'm getting kind of tired of being told to ask a distributer about release dates, as if they would know better than TI!
