pabigot 355
An ARM-based MSP would be nice, but if TI won't provide CMSIS headers for it I won't waste my time. AFAIK they're still not providing them for Tiva or the SimpleLink ones.
AWenzel 7
I found this yesterday: http://www.simplyhired.de/job-id/leqztivih2/software-ingenieur-jobs/ So I guess it's an Cortex (M0) based 32bit msp432
BRey 22
This tells you my age, but maybe they are reviving the Intel 432: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_iAPX_432 Good find @@AWenzel tripwire
StefanoDS 6
This is even more explicit (they mention MSP432-ARM Device Releases): http://jobs.climber.com/jobs/Management-Business/Freising-/MSP-IDE-Product-Manager-m-w-/84480583 IMHO it's a bit controversial to call it an MSP432 if it's an M0 part (with a different core and instruction set but at least the architecture is similar), but manufacturers are known to like naming confusion. Fred 453
@@chicken I agree M0 is more likely and it looks like you were spot on. @@pabigot It's been a while since I used Stellaris/Tiva properly but I'm sure CMSIS was an option instead of StellarisWare. spirilis 1,265
Speaking of ARM, take a look at the right center of the board ... Looks like a 5x2 50mil pitch set of pins, similar to what's found on the ICDI portion of the TM4C1294XL Connected LaunchPad. (see http://www.ti.com/tool/ek-tm4c1294xl for pics) There's an arrow pointing to it, with another one pointing up to the ICDI, so I guess that lets you use other ARM JTAG tools with it. The arrow pointing up to the debugger ... I can barely make out the letters "ET" I think, wonder if that's EnergyTrace?

Fred 453
@@spirilis EnergyTrace++ was a great feature on the FR5969 LaunchPad. I'd hope that they'll continue with this - especially as it's being marketed as low power.
jpnorair 340
People in the industry have been dropping me hints for a while that an ARM M0+ with MSP peripherals and clock system is on the way. A few years ago, I lobbied pretty hard for this, so I guess it's nice that things are coming around. Assuming that the resulting device gets Energia support, that would be great. The Atmel ARM CM parts aren't worth using in low power designs (frankly I think they are weak in most respects). The STM32L parts are great, but I would need to port Arduino to them and do all the requisite community marketing: no thanks. I have a pretty nice firmware and IoT platform waiting in the wings that does all the low-power optimizations for you transparently (as long as you're running sketches). So I have my fingers crossed. cubeberg, spirilis, zeke and 1 other

Fred 453
I can't believe that I didn't get that the 32 in 432 was because it's 32 bit. I doubt the 4 cores though - the only TI multicore ARM processors I could find are way up in the KeyStone Cortex-A15 territory. I didn't think there were any multicore M processors at all, but a quick search shows NXP do have a the LPC4000 series with an M4 and an M0. I assume you were only joking/dreaming anyway.
