JonnyBoats 40
Steve Gibson of Security Now did an interview about programming here: http://twit.tv/show/coding-101/51 If you go to 35 minutes into the interview he holds up and talks about the MSP430 launchpad. cubeberg and zeke
cubeberg 540
Nice to see someone talking about some of the problems behind the Arduino movement - and even better to see the Launchpad mentioned as an alternative. That's one of the biggest reasons why I've stayed away from Arduino - I prefer knowing everything that's going on. It's a big reason behind why I'm a software developer - I don't like relying on other people's software unless I can tear it apart
Jake 24
I came from the Arduino side and coming here is like starting over again. But I do like that this is C programming so learning C helps me with everything. (I'm an industrial powerplant electrician.) And I'm working on my electrical engineering degree. I prefer the systems I can modify to suite my needs instead of relying on others for it, or having to accept the way the system works. cubeberg, KatiePier and spirilis
zeke 693
Yeah. Steve hits the nail on the head - "If you want to learn, do something!"
pabigot 355
I liked the Dido CD on the bookshelf behind him. (I have some number of those books, too, from what I could tell.)
