awmueller 0
Hello, I've installed Energia on Mac Yosemite. Java version is 1.7.0_65. When starting Energia I get the error message that "Energia requires the old Java SE 6-Runtime-Version". How can I run Energia with the new Java version? Or how can I install the old version - where do I get it from? With best regards, Peter
energia 484
Although not ideal, there is no other way to run Energia on Yosemite than to install Java SE 6. You can download the official Apple version from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US We are working on a Java 8 version of Energia so that it will run on Yosemite without having to install a different Java version. Jack1970 0
Hi, Do you have an ETA for that feature? Jack
Jack1970 0
I was worry about having two version of Java on my system, since the Oracle and Apple version are pretty different. I installed the old Apple Java 6 from the link above, and it work great. Energy is running, but above all, the installer did not mess with my configs files. RobLewis 7
Been running Java 8 under Yosemite for a while now and would like to be able to use Energia with it.
dunc2 0
I just received a CC3200 evaluation kit. I am a first time user of Energia and I tried to install it on a Mac running Yosemite (which already had Java 8 installed). After reading this thread I checked if I could install Apple's old Java 6 but the link on your website to the download page no longer works. https://github.com/energia/Energia/wiki/Getting-Started So +1 from me for having Energia work with a more recent version of Java please. Cheers,
waveman 0
It would be awesome to have Java 8 support. @energia: are you aware of this work by someone working on it for Moneydance, a cross-platform java-based personal finances app. They also had the same issues with 1.6 and overcame them quite well. I haven't had any issues since they changed their system.
