bluehash 1,581
Hello All, This is just to let you know that I'm aware that 43oh has been extremely slow recently. 43oh has been getting excessive hits causing my host to restrict my account. I've been working with them to get it going. I request that if it is possible to reduce page refreshes. Also.. if anyone has good recommendations for a VPS provider( other than an EIG brand ), please let me know. I'll be updating this thread as things progress. Thanks, -Gerard
cubeberg 540
Have you looked at Azure? Not sure what you need from a disk space/cpu/ram perspective. http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/virtual-machines/#Linux
abecedarian 330
Not sure if it's related, but it is curious. The slow down, for me, coincided with a total loss of all the advertisements and such that run down the right hand side of the page; sponsors, recent posts, status updates, et al disappeared at the same time the site slowed, as far as I can recollect. @@bluehash - If you need some help to pay for hosting, I'll donate. spirilis 1,265
Fwiw I started using Atlantic.net's $0.99/mo tiny VPS option, they seem like a sharp shop, with SSD-backed cloud instances ... prices go up from there: https://www.atlantic.net/vps/vps-hosting/ Not sure what size VPS this site requires but just wanted to toss their name in. abecedarian and oPossum
zeke 693
My friend runs all his sites on bluehost.com and likes it as lot. One thing for sure is that this site is pathetically slow these days. It's kind of frustrating. I'm spending a lot more time on eevblog.com as a result.
bluehash 1,581
Thank you guys. This site is l..i..m..p..i..ng. I'm configuring a Linnode for now. I moved over c2kcentral as a test and it went well. I leave for vacation tomorrow(my wedding) and hoping to finish it sometime tomorrow, at least. Always at the wrong time. Thanks for sticking around. CorB, cde and spirilis

Thanks @@spirilis. I'm using Linode which is similar to Atlantic. Easily scalable if needed. Apologies once again for the slowness. I had to learn how to do all of this in the last two days.
