spirilis 1,265
I have heard that TI has an FCC certified module in the works but not sure what that entails. I really hope it's something like what you're describing. Sent from my Galaxy Note II with Tapatalk
zeke 693
Yeah, I went to a TI seminar back in September and the Arrow FAE told us that TI is coming out with an FCC approved CC3200 module. Much like the Murata SN8200 module (a CC3000 based module). He said that street price should be around $15/each. We called bull**** on that but he emphatically stood firm on those details. So, we shall see if this rumor will come true in the near future.

A lot of the cost is probably paying back investment of WiFi licenses and engineering cost.
Fred 453
The original $4.30 (including international shipping) price of the G2 launchpad showed they weren't afraid of making a bit of a loss to get people interested. greeeg
alikian 13
Guys, CC3200MOD is out but the price is pretty high $20 for 1K And the other bad thing about it is that still doesn't have any Antenna on it and you need to put external Antenna. Very disappointed. http://www.ti.com/product/CC3200MOD/samplebuy spirilis and Fred
zeke 693
I intuitively knew the module pricing claim was too good to be true. spirilis
Fred 453
@@alikian I see $36.98 on that page. And odd that the only images I can find of the module (courtesy of google image search) are on taobao.com
alikian 13
Any since I need this module I created an Eagle Library for it. https://github.com/alikian/CC3200MOD
