StroudTiger 0
I've been messing around with an LCD that I have and I noticed that when I hooked it up I see lines that don't seem to work in the first couple of characters. I double checked all my connections and couldn't find a problem. I even hooked it up to an Arduino and still see the lines. I guess it's a prob with the LCD. Here's a link to a pic of the problem: http://min.us/lltLmq Is this something that is fixable?
bluehash 1,581
I'm sure its your LCD. All the others boxes seem to e working ok which means the addressing/data logic in software is right. StroudTiger
touch 34
Yep that's an LCD problem. try applying some pressure to the black trim or glass where the area is out. The driver board is probably not making a good contact with the conductive traces on the glass, I've had something similar happen when I took a LCD apart and changed the back-light out, fixed it by re-seating the LCD glass.
