bobnova 59
That's great! The more I interact with TI the more I like them.
Fred 453
That's great. I had a feeling that with 7 entries they might do that rather than disappoint two.
greeeg 460
Excellent news, Thanks TI!! Email sent.
abecedarian 330
I don't think I've seen any other vendor being so kind. Many thanks to TI for being so generous!!! Congratulations everyone! I can't wait to see what we come up with.
Fred 453
The learning curve on the ESI looks steep. I'm currently in hospital after a hernia operation. (Actually typing this from my hospital bed.) Now may be a good time to get some reading done!
bobnova 59
Ouf, I hope everything goes well for you and you get out and home soon! Does sound like good reading time though. I've read through the ESI stuff a couple times and it's still fairly confusing, its a pretty wild bit of hardware .
abecedarian 330
Everybody has probably already come across these, but just in case, TI has reference designs for several sensor solutions using ESI: http://www.ti.com/product/MSP430FR6989/toolssoftware#TIDesigns Fred, bobnova and bluehash
bluehash 1,581
Nice.. this thread is filling up with info! Thank you all for responding so quickly... I'm waiting for one. Will keep this thread updated.
abecedarian 330
The post @@rampadc made requesting to withdraw the entry already made... it's now done with strike-through text. This suggests, to me at least, that rampadc has withdrawn the request to withdraw the entry and now wants to participate. If this is the case and rampadc does in fact want to participate, I have no qualms with rampadc receiving the kit I was going to receive if TI cannot provide a kit to rampadc. Contest time! Five winners get a MSP-TS430PZ100($89) target board along with an MSP-FET($115). Five! This contest is in partnership with TI. They are looking for ideas and applications that could make use of their Extended Scan Interface(pg 744) or ESI. One of the biggest markets of the MSP430 is flow metering which is where this module is widely used. 1. Come up with an application using the MSP430FR6989 chip ESI. 2. Write it down below. 3. If you win, you implement your idea with your kit and get featured on TI's MSP430 Blog. Rules: 1. You have to have at-least 5 reputation points. 2. Keep a small project log in the Projects section. This is so that it can be published later on TI's Blog. Dates: Contest begins August 15th, 2014. Contest ends August 30th, 2014. Winners will be announced first week of September. msp-ts430pz100.jpg med_msp-fet_msp-fet-flash-emulation-tool.jpg ------------------------------------------------------ abecedarian -: Water supply usage chicken -------: Resistive touchscreen pattern detector Fred -----------: Laser cutter coolant and temperature monitor greeeg --------: Fitness monitor bobnova -------:Digital tachometer, speedometer, and intelligent shift light. rampadc 29
I did withdraw my entry but when I saw bluehash included me in the previous entry post anyhow, I withdrew my withdrawal because if TI decides to give one to me, there might be some confusion. But now that bluehash noticed it, I definitely want to withdraw my entry.
