Oldnotdead 8
I am trying without success to install Energia 0101E0012 on my windows 8.1 x64 desktop After downloading energia and then the drivers into my root directory, I opened energia, compiled the blink program and, then tried to upload it to the msp430g launchpad. I consistently get this error
SixSixSevenSeven 23
Are you sure the device drivers successfully installed on 8.1? Check in device manager to see if its giving an error code for your board. I had to disable driver signatures in order to install the drivers

Hassanul 0
Try changing COM ports. Go to device manager . Here's a guide for it. http://plugable.com/2011/07/04/how-to-change-the-com-port-for-a-usb-serial-adapter-on-windows-7 Although its for windows 7, it should be the same steps for windows 8.
Oldnotdead 8
Thank you for the suggestion. I used your link and changed the port settings, I started with Port 1 and went through port 5. No luck with any of the changes. Still got
Oldnotdead 8
I had some time, and decided to try and resolve this. After a ton of trial and error I found A solution. I am using an HP pavilion desktop, so this solution probably wont apply to Other computers, but may get you on the right path. Remove launchpad from the usb connection Open windows task manager, then end the task entitled tripwire, spirilis, bluehash and 1 other
