StroudTiger 0
I've been lurking a while and decided to introduce myself. I'm a teacher in Texas who messes with electronics in my spare time. I'm still a novice but I've spent some time with Arduino and Nerdkits. I decided to jump into the MSP430 after picking up a Launchpad--at $4.30, I just HAD to buy it. Still working my way through the workbook right now but can't wait to get into building something useful!
bluehash 1,581
Hello StroudTiger, Welcome to the forums. Launchpad's are cheap, that is one thing that makes people to buy it. The MSP430 is not very powerful, but quite a capable chip. Let us know if you have any questions.

wasson65 16
Hi there, whereabouts in Texas are you? I'm in Houston - If you're in the neighborhood, you should get down to the Houston Hackerspace (www.txrxlabs.com), I get down there about once a week. Tim
Fe2o3Fish 33
Van Alstyne is a little town about 45-50 miles north of downtown Dallas, along US-75. I've been to Houston only once and that was driving thru down to Galveston. But, I'll keep y'all in mind if I do get down that way. Thanks! -Rusty-
