Giveaways are fun, only...

Recommended Posts

...if you are lucky.

Hello All... any ideas on making the giveaways more fun? I feel if I were in a giveaway there is a very, very small chance that I may win. I wish to increase that probability. Any suggestions are appreciated:

1. More items per giveaway?

2. Contact subscription type services for a bulk giveaway? magazines?

3. Licences for serial port, debug monitors?Any ideas.

4. Free PCB giveaways.. via self stamped envelopes? Will this work? I can do this one easily.

5.

6.

The free PCB giveaways sounds cool - I'm sure a lot of us have extra PCBs laying around that we could contribute.  I know I've got several designs myself.

Yep, that's true ... a good way to clean the desk ;-) - see here .

I order my PCBs at ITead, and in most cases 10+ copies are too much...

If I may speak for Bluehash, I believe fulfillment on that schedule would be rather onerous. Also you need a reasonable stock of PCBs.

Perhaps "buy something from the 43oh store, choose a free PCB if you want one" like with the LP v1.4 boards? It would serve as a promotion for stuff in the store, people would pay their own postage, and the administrative burden would be manageable.

I am not sure what item numbers 2 and 3 in the list mean, could you explain?

At least the giveaways here have few enough participants that they seem like worth entering.

(So many giveaways have so many entries that they are kind of pointless to enter.  "Nobody goes there anymore, it is too crowded." )

If TI can donate some CCS licenses then I agree it's a great prize. They're theoretically quite expensive, but if they're giving it to a hobbyist who couldn't ever justify paying that then they've not lost a sale so it's not really costing them anything.

I got my CCS license bundled with a Piccolo control stick a while ago. I haven't hear of any of those sort of deals recently.
