Energia LaunchPad Tiva C Series support?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Does Energia support or have planned support for Tiva C?

I serach for this info but didn't find nothing about Tiva C.

Tiva C seems similar to Stellaris, maybe the support for Tiva C isn't that hard ;-)

Sure, just select StellarPad = Stellaris LaunchPad and you can upload to the Tiva C LaunchPad.

Thanks.

Now the question is; if is just that why isn't Tiva C listed as supported on Energia??? :!!!:  for me that is quite strange, a reason must exist... :?

No reason other than the inexcusable "ran out of time doing a release".

Ok, and by the way, for me seems a good excuse.

I have a Tiva C and for the current system I'm not in the mood to install the TI stuff and I thought on Energia, thanks.

There is little difference between the Tiva C LaunchPad and the Stellaris LaunchPad, except a marketing gimmick to rebrand the MCU.

Maybe it's time to Energia to consider the official names of the boards instead of the nicknames:

  • LaunchPad MSP430G2xxx instead of LaunchPad
  • LaunchPad Stellaris instead of StellarPad
  • LaunchPad Tiva C instead of TivaPad
  • LauchPad MSP430F5529 instead of FattyPad
  • Experimeter Board MSP430F5739 instead of FraunchPad

Well, I haven't rigorously studied the two yet but I think the Tiva-C has a proper PWM peripheral where the Stellaris did not, or something.  That's probably noteworthy.

Probably that explains this from "Getting Started with the TIVA
