Not a big difference, if any (they do look brighter on the picture, but I guess it's because the strip is black.)

 

Looks like blue and green LEDs are different and they do seem just a bit brighter (at 3.6V blue and green, at 5V only green.)

 

Then again, my eyes are pretty tired in the evening, especially after playing with strips for couple of hours :smile:

The WS2812 use 5 of the 6 pins (one of them is disconnected), and 2 of them are for Vdd. The WS2812B has 4 pins, so it's a little simpler. They're essentially the same chip, although according to my spec sheets, the 'protocol' timing is a little different, but the same library should be able to be used for both.
