username 198
The controller works flawlessly! I've already made 20 circuit boards. circuit board.jpg w00t glad to hear its working for ya! Mind taking a picture of your setup? Howdy all, been shipping them out as soon as I get the chance. My day job has been keeping me quite busy. I got 50 more kits on the way and got a new design SMT for mass produce being released soon. I'll be willing to ship over seas once I get abit more feedback from the current users. Thanks for your patience. Most people have been buying pre assembled kits but for those of you who haven't, here are preliminary instructions http://www.zallus.com/reflow-oven-kit-assembly-instructions/ I'll work on getting a more elaborate video up showing the whole process. tingo 22
@kodi: I had the same challenge here in Norway; for whatever reason, IR ovens are not on the market here. I know this doesn't help :-/

username 198
Hey Timothy, Your setup looks sweet! Thanks for sharing. As far as ovens go, looks like the infrared craze certainly has died down and the sleek black n decker infra-wave ovens are off the market. Here are some possible alternatives. Not sure about Europe shipping: Panasonic NB-G110P Flash Xpress Toaster Oven, Silver http://www.sears.com/kenmore-elite-infrared-convection-toaster-oven-brushed-aluminum-stainless/p-00806905000P Looking good. How much do these go for? 60 USD for the kit shipped. Currently out of kits but have more pcbs coming from china in the next couple weeks. braxtron 0
PM sent a few days ago. Would like to order a deluxe kit or two when they're again available!
Tribes 10
Looks amazing! How much power should a feasible infrared oven have at least? Is 800W enough? Because 800W ones are easily available in germany (and they are quite cheap, too)
kodi 16
Here is one of the better comparison of the ovens: http://www.rocketscream.com/blog/2011/06/19/toaster-convection-or-infrared-oven/ looks like 9l 800W should be fine. OTOH - OP's build is based on 4 element oven (I assume a little higher capacity than 9l ).
usysinc 0
Nice well positioned product! Put it in a box and you have a professional commercial product.
PunKidd 2
Good success on my first few boards as well. Took some practice getting the paste in the right places. I found painting it on w/ and Xacto knife and a micro swab worked better for me than the tips you can get for the applicator. Next step is cutting some stencils on the laser cutter at my local Austin Hackerspace. I've got my 5V PS and SSR installed inside the oven case so there is just one power cord. Here are a few pix. - Jared.
