mbeals 74
I have a question about an FTDI230x chip In the circuit I just built, when I plug it in, it seems to get power (I get voltage out of the 3V regulator), but the computer cannot recognize it. In fact, both windows and linux show repeated, cyclic attempts as if it were power cycling. It does the same thing on windows and linux. My first though was that I switched D+ and D-, but I double checked the chip and the pinouts and unless I'm being ultra dense, I have it right. I followed the schematic in the FTDI datasheet pretty much to the letter, and don't think I abused any of traces to the point of failure. Any thoughts on where to start looking? I've attached a schematic and the board layout.
oPossum 1,083
D+ & D- are backwards on the mini USB B connector. C8 & C11 must be 47 pF. bluehash and mbeals
mbeals 74
huh....not sure how I missed that. Thanks! and I thought the D+ and D- were flipped on all female connectors (same reason you need a crossover ethernet cable), not just on the mini's.
