LaunchPad Proto Plate- from Ponoko

Recommended Posts

@@Tribes @@DanAndDusty Just drop me a PM with your address and an assurance you'll purchase it from the store once Bluehash has them up there and I'll get them in the post direct to you. Note that I've only got the acrylic not a breadboard. I don't know if they'll be bundled together in the store.

Will do. And Breadboard is not a problem, plenty of those are available on ebay :)

I had a few of these "protoplates" made-- I fell in love with the one from AdaFruit for the BeagleBone and really wanted one for the LaunchPad and had some made.  (I have to thank Bart, if he's on he

ILAMtitan - Thanks. The vectors are just a few squares, so it was just as easy to measure and redo. I was going to attempt to trace and vector cut the rocket but don't think I'd do a great job. I know

Well it took me a while and a bit of experimenting, but here's the final result in clear and black acrylic. I shuffled the Launchpad logo around so it wouldn't be covered by the corner pieces and adde

BTW, feedback on the first protoplates that I got made from some of the teachers I sent it to.

- It's nice to have a hole in the plate, so if someone wants to hang the board up on peg-board or in a lab "check out" session. For now binder clips work. (wish I had a picture to show).

I know DP has been working on a box kit - might be worth checking out their posts on the topic.  Looks like Seeed was helping them source boxes.

The protoplates are now in the post to @@DanAndDusty, @@Tribes and @@bluehash.

@@Fred the black board really does look slick. I didn't even consider using colours, I might play around with it.
I love the 43oh logo you designed. Is there any way that I could borrow that?

I can't take the credit for the logo. @@JWoodrell created it. You'll find the PSD for it in the 43oh PCB logo thread here.

I put some stick-on feet under the outer corners of the LP and the breadboard so they wouldn't show.

Drill some holes in that breadboard and put in some leds. Make it really glow.

That sounds like a fun idea.  I may look into that.  I could tap into the power rails of the breadboard/LP from underneath.
