jpnorair 340
What's your favorite? We all know you indulge in the odd energy drink on those late-night debugging sessions. My number-one favorite is the classic: Americano. My number-two favorite is Red Bull Cola, but we can't get it in USA anymore, so I must live with Rockstar Cola. spirilis 1,265
Espresso, from a superautomatic machine like we have @ work, a local coffee joint or (faux-espresso) from a Moka pot at home. With heavy cream stirred in Sent from my C3PO via Tapatalk
gwdeveloper 275
No energy drinks for this guy. I haven't slept more than 4 hours a night in over 20 years. Caffeine or stimulants and I'm ready to run a marathon. I need sedatives just slow down to think most days.
juani_c 66
Mate amargo or mate with sugar and coffee.
igor 163
Hot chocolate. But as gwdeveloper says, not late at night; not part of good sleep hygiene (an essential part of health). Of course I also try to avoid looking at lighted screens (CRT, LCD, etc.) shortly before going to bed, because there is some evidence that they may also interfere with sleep. GeekDoc 226
Regular coffee for me most of the time. No additives for me; I like my coffee like my women: strong and bitter. Once in a while, I'll have a sugar-free energy drink. Usually, it's an off-brand I buy on base ("Pit Bull"). If I buy from a regular store, it's Monster Absolute Zero. cde 334
Mostly cut out that stuff. No soda on the regular, no energy drinks, no coffee. It's bad for you, dependence creating. I mean I still have soda, but not i can go month without it. Green Tea on the other hand, both canned and brewed.
jpnorair 340
Green Tea on the other hand, both canned and brewed. Green Tea is also full of a lot of flourine compounds. I prefer Mat
roadrunner84 466
ethnobotanistnice scrabble word :silent:I stick with coffee most of the time, with a little (non-condensed) milk added. Like cde I try to avoid dependence, so sometimes I go a week or two without coffee, so I switch to tea (mostly green). I rather like my hot drinks you see.
yyrkoon 250
Water. Reverse osmosis type. There have been studies that provides strong evidence that when tired, take a good drink of water, stretch, then walk around a bit to wake up. Of course, if you're jacked up on caffeine, or some other stimulant this is not going to be as effective. When this does not work, perhaps your body is trying to tell you something
roadrunner84 466
reverse osmosis water, that's like sports drinks, isn't it?
sirri 28
energy drinks are not very healthy. black coffee rulzzz : )
roadrunner84 466
I guess the components of coffee (brewed off burned coffee beans) aren't that healthy either.
jpnorair 340
I sent a case of this one to a team I worked with on a project, once. Those guys were deeply caffeine-dependent. Coffee is no less healthy than green tea is. What matters more is to get good coffee or good tea. I think coffee has more antioxidants -- all I know is that there is a coffee war in San Francisco now, and people here are crazy about health food. Crazy. roadrunner84
