Coders needed - Free Hardware

Recommended Posts

I am still on the watchlist to keep my reputation low ;)

To at least share my idea for this type of gear, I would use it initially as an information centre connected via RF (CC110L) to my home sensornetwork. It should be able to inform me about temperatures/movements and active energyusage. My sensornetwork should in time become more a home automation system I am sure this kind of display could also fit that bill. But for the moment I am just dreaming away ...

I was literally just about to pull my older 4D display out of its current home (a reverse geocache I made for my nephew) to go in a new project monitoring water flow and temperature for my laser cutter. And to disable the laser if it's not running so I don't burn a hole in the back of my hand again. If I'm eligible then can I throw my name in.

I was intending to prototype on the LP but then make a custom G2553 board but after my etching problems today maybe it might stay on the LP for now. If this is a booster then all the better.

This came in two das back. Putting it over here for members to drool.

Expect updates in this thread shortly. Thanks to 4D-Systems for sending them over. These will be passed on to members.

I think I just had a nerdgasm.  Those are nice looking!

Certainly. There is a possibility that I might have to send the smaller ones+1 big one to one dev, as 4D requested it.

Having a close look at the pictures, there are interesting boards that allow connections to any of the 4D Systems displays.

The uLCD-32W-PTU includes the Picaso controller, with many powerful features. I explored their previous screens on serial SGC mode and developed the Serial_LCD Library Suite.

The new screens feature a serial mode, but with a slightly different protocol called SPE2.

But the killing feature is the ViSi-Genie environment: design a rich GUI with just clicks-and-drops!

Read my review at A Genie for Your Arduino Sketch.

I'd interested in the connection board with a Picaso-based screen.

Please find my review of the 4D Systems uLCD-32WPTU with BoosterPack for Stellaris and a library for Energia.
