bluehash 1,581
Update 4/28/2013 - Boards arrived. Hi Everyone, 4DSystems approached 43oh if any of its members are interested in coding up examples for their Intelligent Display Module with the MSP430 Launchpad. In return you get the display for free. The display is intelligent and comes with its own software to program it. The LP will just send it data eg. sensor data. That's what I get from it. I'll also be asking them for some displays for giveaways. This is open for members with >=100 Reputation points. You can see your points in any post that you make on the left side, in your profile. Just list your name here if you are interested. I'll ask again if you are "really" interested once the displays are ready to ship. You may also need to make sure you have time for this. It should not just sit on your desk. You may ask questions too. This is the first time this is being tried out, so ask away. List: 1. 2. RobG, cubeberg, mbeals and 2 others
cde 334
The other videos are a bit better. Essentially, you use something similar to visual or real basic to make the GUI (which gets saved to an sd card), and it responses to variables over i2c or serial (two way communication) bluehash
RobG 1,892
So many ideas in my head, so little time. I was going to add tentative, but who am I kidding, this thing is gorgeous. List: 1. RobG 2.
roadrunner84 466
Looks like a fun think to play with, alas my reputation is <100, and they'd need to ship to the Netherlands...
bluehash 1,581
Tentative is ok. Looks like a fun think to play with, alas my reputation is <100, and they'd need to ship to the Netherlands... You might reach 100 by the time these are ready to ship. So keep updated. Also, displays will ship from Australia, so doesn't matter.
CorB 64
I also wish I had a reputation ... normally I wouldnt ))
bluehash 1,581
I also wish I had a reputation ... normally I wouldnt ;-))) If there are not many takers >100, I'll open it up a little more. The reputation is kind of an index, so it's a good entry bar into giveaways like this. The more you give the forum, the more I'm trying to give back... Although I know you have helped alot! I'd wait a day or two for takers. If the list does not fill up, I'll loosen the bar a little more.
username 198
oooo I got enough points! But so little time =( . Awesome idea though and best of luck with it! I love the idea of free hardware 8-)
yyrkoon 250
Yeah same here, not enough rep, and not enough time. The display looks gorgeous, and would love to use this is a few projects of my own. But most likely for Stellaris, or Sitara stuff. When the MSP430G2955 actually comes out in quantities, then I personally could see more use for this in the valueline MSP430 space. gwdeveloper 275
I'd be interested in writing some stuff for it. Pretty sure I have enough rep but not as much as RobG. That's a hard working dude for sure. List: 1. RobG 2. GWDeveloper
GeekDoc 226
Wow! That thing is GORGEOUS! Wish I had some good ideas (and the smarts/time to implement them) for this... Will be anxious to see what the smart guys come up with. :-)
roadrunner84 466
I have no problems thinking of ideas what to do with it, more so I find it hard to think of what to do first.
tingo 22
I agree; that is one seriously nice user interface "gadget". It'll be nice to see what people come up with.
Fred 453
I've used another of their modules in a Netduino-based reverse geocache project. I think it was an earlier version of their
JWoodrell 285
I have done some industrial control design work in the past and could give a good shot at putting something together for them.
