RobG 1,892
It was showing up in the parametric search. What's more, PS lists 44 parts, but the product tree has 45 parts. BTW, remember this? bluehash, spirilis and gwdeveloper
cde 334
Yea, I found it in the parametric search, which had 47 chips at the time, while looking for the tssop sized chips. The g2955 was at the very end. Funny, the f2xxx list has some of the first valueline g2xxx chips listed on it.
grahamf72 169
I discovered last night that they are now listing a G2755 & G2855. No stock available yet and will only be available in 38 pin TSSOP or 40 pin VQFN - a shame they aren't listed in 40 pin DIP, as the specs look pretty darned good. Both have 4kB of RAM, 3 Timers, USCI A & B, & 12 x 10bit ADC. The 2755 has 32kB Flash, the 2855 has 48kB. With pricing on the TI site of $1.20 & $1.24 respectively, I'd expect single chips will probably be well under $5 from places like Mouser & Farnell. These specs make them compare favourably with early 8bit PC's like the VIC-20 & Apple II. That's a lot of potential in a sub $5 package. Hopefully someone will start selling a 2855 on an 40 pin DIP adaptor board. RobG and roadrunner84
xpg 127
This is really good news. Looking forward to get my hands on those :-)

MSP-GANG v1.1.2.0 This version has added support for new devices:MSP430G2444, MSP430G2544, MSP430G2744MSP430G2755, MSP430G2855, MSP430G2955 Listed also on http://www.ti.com/gang430 RobG
spirilis 1,265
whoa! Nice. I'm guessing the 2955 would pretty much max out the value line completely? Otherwise they'd need the MSP430X series instruction set to get 20-bit addressing...
John La Rooy 0
Here it is showing up in a google cache of the parametic search http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:R2qtj-kt9XsJ:focus.ti.com/paramsearch/docs/parametricsearch.tsp%3FfamilyAliasId%3D1000004%26appId%3D590%26family%3Dapps%26uiTemplateId%3DAPP_PARAM_SRCH%26viewDeviceCallingPage%3Dhttp%253A%252F%252Ffocus.ti.com%252Fapps%252Fdocs%252Fviewdevices.tsp%253FblockDiagramId%253D6273%2526blockId%253D9558%2526designOptionId%253D11392%2526appId%253D590%26startIdx%3D761%26endIdx%3D770+&cd=6&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au
yyrkoon 250
Will definitely be an interesting chip, even in tssop, if it does actually come into fruition.
kenyee 5
Feeling the heat from PIC chips? Or the ATMega Arduino ones? Or Cortex M0+? :-) Should be interesting to see if they have kept power usage low...
rockets4kids 204
Although the pages/references to the 2955 have disappeared, there are several 2755/2855 pages: http://www.ti.com/product/msp430g2855 http://www.ti.com/product/msp430g2755 and even some errata sheets: http://www.ti.com/lit/er/slaz515/slaz515.pdf http://www.ti.com/lit/er/slaz516/slaz516.pdf Edited March 16, 2013 by bluehash Added screenshots. bluehash

rockets4kids 204
So, for the TI people who claim to be following the forums: Any comment here?
yyrkoon 250
They're probably not allowed to talk about parts that are not already released. Otherwise im sure they would have piped up by now.
rockets4kids 204
If it is on the website, I can't possibly see any reason why their isn't *someone* at TI who can talk about it.
cde 334
Because someone might have put up the page for proper formattting, but it's not supposed to be there and would get pulled again? Screenshot of the x755 and x855 just for prosperity. And the g2955 is obviously part of this series, just ups the ram I believe. Without a datasheet and pinout, it's hard to tell if there is any other difference. Now the g2x44 series, that there's no info on yet either. Speculating, ram boost, dip packaging, and both usci and usi modules? One can only hope.
