bluehash 1,581
Not to extend this discussion any further, but let's not forget that TI is not the only outlet increasing their prices. Tayda for example. In the past few months they have increased prices of some of their components, like wires, crystals, etc. (shipping went up too.) Thanks.. I wouldn't have realized it. You are one of the few who orders alot from them. The low prices were probably to place their foot in.
Rickta59 589
What makes you place the Stellaris LP lastChip availability. I can't get these chips in small quantity from a variety of vendors. This is one of my personal priorities. What's the asterix on the bootloaderThat was on the USB Mass Storage Drag and Drop firmware upload. Some chips have that built-in to their ROM. With the Stellaris board, fortunately thanks to the open source community, a user created some software that provides that feature. The '*' indicates you will have to load that firmware to get that capability. elpaso
elpaso 15
Nice worksheet, you might consider adding columns for Linux support in the programming toolchain and if the toolchain is free SW (as in free speech) and open hardware.
FJ_Sanchez 1
So bad news... In my case it is even worst. I'm part of an university association and we are organizing a microcontroller introductory workshop. We started to organize all this way before the price rise and now we have more than 70 students enrolled. That makes 70*(9.99$-4.30$) = 398.30$ that we didn't expect to spend. Sooo bad news... FJ_Sanchez 1
I'm from Europe and we have Nuria Llin, the european counterpart to Larissa. We are currently in contact with her and they are going to support us but maybe we will end up with v1.4 instead of v1.5, nothing that some new chips and a few bridges couldn't solve. roadrunner84 466
In the dev board spreadsheet I'm missing the stm32lvdiscovery (cortex m0) and I suppose NXP is also delivering m3 and m4 boards. Could you include those?
Rickta59 589
n the dev board spreadsheet I'm missing the stm32lvdiscovery (cortex m0) and I suppose NXP is also delivering m3 and m4 boards. Could you include those?Hey! I didn't plan on making this a career.. all you need to do is search for stm32l-discovery on http://octopart.com or http://octopart.com/partsearch#search/requestData&q=stm32l-discovery These prices and boards are just a snapshot of a very dynamic world I have no desire to track. I was just trying to help myself decide which chips are readily available today at a low quantity one prices and which boards I could use to program those chips. ... wait I had already updated it .. try reloading I made some changes a while ago. -rick

SugarAddict 227
According to the information I found on the ti wiki (and website, and digikey), the ez430 sticks only supports a very limited number of 430's, not including the valueline chips. It only supports devices released before it was, as far as the ez430u r2.0 stick is concerned. There has never been an update to add new chips to it's emulator/programmer. Effectively cuts out all the value line updates. I call that abandoned, pretty much in favor of the launchpad. And while the ez430u has the uart tx/rx pins (the target board doesn't use them), no idea if they actually work (Though I suppose I could loop them to test. Todo list.) Oh, and it seems that the price for the ez430 might be going up to !40! and the f2012 target boards to 15? According to the same page that we first saw the Launchpad go up to 9.99. (Short link, www.ti.com/ez430 ) $40? wtf? That's lame, largely, in comparison to REAL competition.
chibiace 46
very sad. may the msp430 launchpad rest in peace.
