pine 140
Since its announcement last year ( or year before last year?) has been very excited about this MCU. The last news was that TI offering samples. How long until the first "official" development / evaluation kit from TI ? We have Stellaris LaunchPad last year, I hope there will be Wolverine LaunchPad in 2013!
cde 334
Should be May 2013, from what I was told. It could be pushed back for whatever reasons. They already have prototypes and boxes for the wolverine launchpad. pine

RobG 1,892
Is WLP pinout available yet?

You can then put it in the eval board and use it.
pabigot 355
I ordered a sample fr5969 chip and they actually sent it to me for free. You can then put it in the eval board and use it. FWIW, the FR5969 and eval board is one of the ten supported platforms under BSP430. So if/when a Wolverine launchpad becomes available, BSP430 should be ready for it. Be aware that the eval board (at least the one I got) has only one LED populated. If you want more LEDs or the buttons or the crystal to work, you've got some soldering to do including any necessary SMD capacitors and resistors which you'll have to source yourself. bluehash
spirilis 1,265
Looks like it's available for purchase, although I can't find any pics and TI's website barely acknowledges its existence--save for one document that mentions it by name with a link that doesn't work (http://www.ti.com/tool/msp-exp430fr5969 -- nothing) However someone on the MSP430 E2E forum has announced in multiple threads that it is now available on DigiKey and I see it on Mouser as well- http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Texas-Instruments/MSP-EXP430FR5969/?qs=%2fha2pyFaduiOWoQ4nV7ptdKdRtTB86990G1%252bPUZdKqx5gdTI%2fx3EBQ%3d%3d http://www.digikey.com/product-search/en?x=-987&y=-87&KeyWords=msp-exp430fr5969 No stock yet. Strange price discrepancy... Mouser = $35, Digikey = $20? Avnet Express lists it for ~$21 (still no stock): http://avnetexpress.avnet.com/store/em/EMController/Development-Kits/Texas-Instruments/MSP-EXP430FR5969/_/R-5004306218690/A-5004306218690/An-0?action=part&catalogId=500201&langId=-1&storeId=500201&listIndex=-1&page=1&rank=
rockets4kids 204
Given that it was a full two years between the time that TI started sampling the msp430g2553 and when it was generally available, TI may be holding off on the Wolverine parts until they can actually get them into sufficient production. Makes sense. (I just started playing with the MSP430 over a year ago when the G2553 was still somewhat spotty to buy) At least this news has got me to finally study the chip (reading the F2xxx/G2xxx to FR58xx/FR59xx migration guide today) Sent from my Galaxy Note II with Tapatalk
jpnorair 340
No stock yet. Strange price discrepancy... Mouser = $35, Digikey = $20? It says "Factory Stock" on Digikey. In other words, they are just brokering the sale, which is coming directly from TI. Still nothing much from findchips
