Calling for Wiki(The 43oh Library) Volunteers

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

In response to this thread, I've created a wiki or doc library for all BoosterPacks that we have. It will be a slow process, but I think as members suggested, it is much needed and will allow users and designers to find information in one place.

I've created a template(still working on it) for the SDCard BoosterPack. The wiki will be open to editing only by designers so we control over it and they will have to follow the template.

Any suggestions for the template are welcome.

Following are some members who will get emails for their BPs. I'll be sharing some of them in creating pages, so don't worry.

Bluehash - SDCard BP/OLED BP/GPS BP/WizFi 210 BP

Robg - UCLCD/ProtoPad/SMD/CC2500/MIDI/LV MOSFET/

CubeBerg - VFD Clock

Spirilis - NRLF BP/5XXXX XL

Lars - LCD Button/Touch/

If you are not a designer and have some experience in creating wikis, please enroll below:

I've been slowly updating the VFD Clock page - will be taking more pictures when new boards arrive.  Looks like you've been doing a great job on the pages for your BP's - hopefully we'll have a lot mo

Bluehash, you guys are on your own with this. But, I would like to help the forum in another way.

Perhaps something like this could be done for all the very useful posts on the forums. Linked, and categorized. Like how you've done with websites / blogs pinned in general.

Some may well think the forum is already there and thats good enough. Perhaps, if you've been here for years, and you know what content exists(mostly). The problem I am seeing increasingly for myself, is that searches do not always turn up good enough results. For example, I posted a youtube link to Jonathon coulton's code monkey in a part of the forum ( "a nice quiet movie to watch" or something like that.) I did not remember the exact section it was in, but I wanted to watch/ listen to the video again. Long story short, the search feature on the forums did not find the post with keyword "monkey" where the text I put  in the post was "dance monkey dance"

So yeah, in that case big deal right ? What other information am I missing by using the forums search feature ? Like many developers I often do not have a lot of time to find information on a given subject. So, if i can not find it on 430h.com forums, I am sorry, but I will look elsewhere. *AND* I have done just that several times. I think the key though, is to keep users on *your* pages. Personal preference for me is that I would rather stay here too.

Anyway, if you would like to do something like that I would be willing to help sort it all out. But, I have no wiki experience( am willing to learn though ).

Are you using the google search feature? I got your post on the third hit with the keyword "monkey"
