gatesphere 45
TI is having a promotion right now for a free eZ430-F2013 device, normally $20. I just ordered mine. To take them up on this offer, use the coupon code EZFREE2013 when you check out. Oh, and the HALFMSPTOOL coupon still works on many items too. Thought someone would enjoy this. netrafter

GeekDoc 226
Awesome! Thanks for the tip! I just ordered one. Since I had to pay shipping anyway, I ordered three more launchpads and a set of three more target boards for the eZ430-F2013. No change in shipping cost! <$30 US total! Whenever I get that error, I just hit submit again until it goes through. It always works for me on the second or third try.
Sean 1
I'm not sure what happened, I typed in my shipping information and an invoice showed up on the next page, no shipping options/rates, payment info, or final submit order button. The invoice shows a $0 total but also: "Shipping to be determined later: $0.00". I guess I'll have to wait to see if they ship it and if/how they try charging me. jsolarski 94
thanks for the info, but i dont think i will pick up one, it looks like same exact functionality as the launchpad, but in a more convenient package, personally i have been able to program the f2013 14 pin DIP with the launchpad and not have any issues. NJC 17
To reiterate what jsolarski said, the EZ430 has almost the same functionality as the LaunchPad, just in a much smaller package. I actually used the EZ430 before the LaunchPad came out, and found the LaunchPad only because I blew my EZ430 (my own mistake). Anyways, if I am not mistaken the extra target boards are not the F2013 like what comes with the kit, but the F2012. Also, a little tip to anyone who got this; you can take the target boards and plug them directly into the LaunchPad if you have the right connector soldered into the LaunchPad. TI also mentions which part number this is if anyone is interested. These devices are really just programmers, cool ones at that. Have fun with the EZ430! :-) Maybe those of you who are still waiting to get their LaunchPad can start playing when these come in. PS: All the examples on my site (to date)(the ADC code will be different) will work with the F2013. The 2013 is a great chip. -NJC _________________________ http://msp430launchpad.com
plazma 3
My package in on the way to Finland. Tracking code says it's in Paris ATM. Did you pay for shipping? I did not pay anything for the Fedex 2-day shipping. I did not even have to fill in any credit card details. netrafter
NJC 17
How did you not pay shipping? That's awesome! I would get another if there was free shipping. Lol. Can't get enough programmers. -NJC _________________________ http://msp430launchpad.com
plazma 3
I just entered the code and that made the sum 0$. I did not choose any shipping and it was accepted. Maybe it's a bug in the webshop.

Yeah its a bug in their store, when It happened to me it was purely by accident so I'm not going to repeat it, I received my ez430 yesterday and wired up a sample msp430 on a breadboard, the website said fedex 2 day but they shipped mine priority overnight . Feel free to play around with the checkout, but its not an accident if your trying to exploit it. I think I'll be waiting another month or 2 for the launchpad backorders to clear before mine ships
NJC 17
To be honest, I'm not even going to try. I respect TI enough not to take advantage of them. After all, how can I complain with all the free samples I've gotten over the years, and the half off development tools, and the great customer support. The only problem I have with them is their organization (specifically with documentation, and software releases), but I am not one to be critical about that, my organization is not the best either. Lol. Hopefully I will have time soon to get the next post up on my blog. Busy busy busy. Analog circuitry is a pain. -NJC _________________________ http://msp430launchpad.com

GeekDoc 226
The $5.30 for shipping is pretty cheap, and you can add other purchases and the shipping charge is the same.
