Alright people, here is something good.   Emmoco has graciously donated a few EDB-BLE kits so that more developers get their hands on it. There is currently support for iDevices and they are almost

Just a note, Bluetooth v4 Low Energy mode is not backwards compatible with regular bluetooth v2/3/4.   Here's a wikipedia list of some popular BLE devices http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_low

Currently, I'm working on a MSP430 based Clinometer. It's running from a F5529 with dual OLED. One for roll display, the other for pitch. Right now it's using an ADXL335 and LH303 for orientation. Usi

I'd like to build a controller for my smoker that is remotely controlled and monitored by my iphone 5.   The smoker logic would be very similar to my sous vide projects.  The project is still in the planning stages because I want to do some funky stuff like power it by harvesting the heat generated by the smoker using peltiers, heat the smoker using quartz infrared tubes (not powered by peltiers of course), and have the 3 sections of the smoker wirelessly networked.   The top section of the smoker has a temp display and ambient air temp probe and meat temp probe, middle section has meat temp probe, bottom section has a sensor to detect case where the water bowl has evaporated and also has the control logic for the quartz tubes.  I'm thinking of adding an air quality sensor to the top section to monitor the amount of smoke generated by the wood chips.

ok.. guys.. Those who still want this , you may get in line. Unfortunately this cannot ship international for now due to license issues. I'd prefer to give this to members who have iDevices. Android support is in the making. Also, enter only if you are going to work on it.

@fred, if you'll pay for shipping, I'll send my kit to you. I only made a simple app to interface with my ipad and control the Stellaris LP's rgb led. Developing iOS apps is not something I'm really interested in right now so the kit is now sitting. The schema builder makes developing the embedded app pretty easy but I have to use the wife's Mac for working on iOS. Wedding season is kicking and she's too busy on her machine. Pm with your address so i can get a shipping quote if you're interested.
