abecedarian 330
It's a bit hard to come up with a logo. I still cannot come up with one that spells out msp430 in an image. Use the right half of the M to make a 4, the lower half of the S to make a '3', and work the P into an 0, possibly like an 8 of sorts, and then: ... one color for the pixels unique to MSP, another color for pixels shared between MSP and 430, and a third color for pixels unique to 430. They could be shades of grey too, I assume.
Fred 453
Looks great! I asked Fred to put the one before this in his protoplates. and JWoodrell has sent me a nice hi-res image of it. Thanks. I was messing about with Adobe Illustrator last night to use the nice vector version of Launchpad rocket, so might try the grab and vectorize the longer 43oh.com version too and see if that looks better on the protoplate. JWoodrell 285
I can send it as vectors from Photoshop if that helps, i would think illustrator would lay nice with Photoshop pretty easy Fred
Fred 453
@@JWoodrell - If you could that would be great. Thanks. My engraving software works from a bitmap (the larger the better). I've got Photoshop Elements so a PSD would be perfect.
JWoodrell 285
here is the launchpad rocket logo vectorized, I included the fonts in the zip file in case you don't have that one. I had to zip the .PSD file cause it wouldn't let me upload it directly. launchpad_logo.zip it is based on the logo part in eagle that they included with their v1.5 board file. Fred 453
@@JWoodrell I've got the Launchpad rocket already (thanks to ILAMtitan). I meant your latest 43oh.com logo - i.e. 43OH_CIRCUIT_LOGO_LONG. Sorry for the confusion.
JWoodrell 285
hehe, oh well, maybe the rocket will be useful to someone. here is the circuit long logo vectorized again, had to zip the .PSD, the vectors are in two layers because of clipping between the circles and lines... but it works 430logo_circuit_long.zip Fred, GG430 and bluehash
Fred 453
Brilliant, thanks. Your reward will be that in a couple of days you may get to see your work immortalised in a photo of a piece of plastic. JWoodrell

JWoodrell 285
well the scan test boards came in and it was a mixed bag. the silkscreen codes got mangled by them (whole sections blocked in, and other missed, I'm not sure what happened, but I have an E-mail in to them, the gerber files were fine that I sent them) the copper layer codes under the soldermask may work with a lighter color mask (like red) but in purple they are too dark to see. so fail here the copper layer code shows some shape degradation from the etching process and the smaller one has the fine feature spots eaten away degrading the code beyond use. the large code shows the degradation but the spots are big enough to have survived. however QR codes have to have a light colored border, the large code scanned when I edited that into the picture, although the small one still no scan. the soldermask codes are both scannable and quite clear and defined. so win on that one. the 43oh logos on the back worked well and the binary digits are quite clear on both, however the hybrid one shows it will have issues if there is any misalignment between the silkscreen layer and the soldermask layer (which there will always be some) so i think it should be killed, and use 100% soldermask logo as shown, or 100% silkscreen. but it is workable. on a sidenote none of the codes would scan "live" while holding the phone up to them, because its running off a lower res video image, I took a picture with the phone and fed the still image into the qr code app and they processed. so for "live" scanable codes I would say they need to be at least 50% larger, depending on the lens and camera quality as well as the app on any given phone (these photos were taken with my Iphone, and the border was edited into the copper layer code) bluehash, GeekDoc and johnnyb
bluehash 1,581
Very good test.. Was the one at the bottom right readable? I'm surprised the binary digits around the O came out so well.
