abecedarian 330
you know my suggestion : ) ; ) http://forum.43oh.com/topic/3005-doh-humor-p/ Problem with that is the logo has to be screened onto the board so therefore must be monochromatic.
abecedarian 330
Out of curiosity, what are the pixel constraints? X by Y?
cubeberg 540
For Seeed - 6mil minimum silk screen line width. Font size 32 mil. The page I linked to has mm equivalents. As far as the complete logo - I'd suggest we come up with a couple sizes depending on who much room people have on a project. Sometimes it's hard to squeeze in extra text - especially when you annotate component values.
SugarAddict 227
This is why I lean towards just using text and putting a web address in. Although sometimes you have room... I tried a bag of sugar on my last boards... turned out pretty good.
abecedarian 330
Why not use micro QR code to the project's url, with "43oh.com" either vertical or horizontal, next to it? Just asking since those seem to be popular?

abecedarian 330
Hm - that's a pretty slick idea. Any idea what size it would have to be to be recognizable by devices? I've been looking around and there really isn't a set size. It needs to be large enough the device can scan it. Higher-resolution phone cameras can scan smaller QR than low-res phones. The more data encoded, the smaller the dots become therefore a physically larger QR would be needed. There's also the issue of contrast between the code and its coloring. Realistically, the QR for a project page, which most smartphones could scan, would probably be around 1-1.5" square, much like you see on soda cups and such. Using one of the "short URL" services may trim that down. Simply encoding the url for 43oh.com could probably get by with around 1/2x1/2 inch. But still that's a lot of space on a board to keep void of vias and such that could interfere. It would come down to trial and error on the part of whomever is making the board and generating the code to find the suitable size. So, maybe it wasn't such a bright idea? :!!!:

I may still try it on a board sometime. Ideally, my plan is to offer several versions - people can pick whatever they want. I've got a couple in the works - I'll post a library when I've got some ready. abecedarian
PolkaDot 12
Maybe try this guy on for size? https://www.dropbox.com/s/k1t9e04y6oxvkgl/43oh%20Polka.png Sorry for the link, but couldn't put it in the post. Also ignore that weird black stuff.. bluehash
cubeberg 540
Here you go - Not bad - I like the IC part. Nice and clean - you could scale it pretty easy so that it wouldn't need too much room on the board. I've been working on trying to do vectors instead so you can actually get smooth fonts. That's the only way you'll get that type of text. It's not TOO difficult - I've had some luck with Inkscape and this method from DP - http://dangerousprototypes.com/2013/02/08/importing-svg-images-as-polygons-into-eagle/ I still have a few more 43oh.com logos in the works - just haven't come up with any really awesome ones so far
bluehash 1,581
It's a bit hard to come up with a logo. I still cannot come up with one that spells out msp430 in an image.
PolkaDot 12
I was never a huge fan of images as text, myself. I feel like good graphics and good font should coexist. Or maybe 43oh needs a mascot ;-) GeekDoc

roadrunner84 466
I suggest a cute animal that is associated with green/low power. Dolphins chime to mind, but they have been used extensively by other projects and companies. Maybe something to underline energy harvesting. bluehash
