mbeals 74
ST is giving away their STM32F3 Discovery boards again. The specs on the chip aren't all that special, but it is a Cortex M4 chip and has some cool on board sensors....and it's free. http://www.st.com/internet/evalboard/product/254044.jsp
roadrunner84 466
so... where's the free stuff? I can only order them at $10.90. Besides, I don't know, is it allowed to promote non-TI cpu's at this forum?

Besides, I don't know, is it allowed to promote non-TI cpu's at this forum? Well, this subforum is "Other Microcontrollers" for a reason.
Fred 453
They're only free in the US and Canada. Pretty cheap elsewhere though. A better place for ARM stuff (although mostly TI ARM obviously) is Stellarisiti.
Tribes 10
They're only free in the US and Canada. Damn!

I ordered one because, hey, free micro! Since they're ARM, porting code to/from Stellaris shouldn't be too tough.
touch 34
I ordered some - hope they'll approve them. I've been using these STM32 Discovery dev boards for awhile and once you get a good tool-chain working, they're excellent development boards with a good set of peripherals, much more than the Stellaris has (DMA!), but they're quite a steep learning code from the simple stuff. abecedarian 330
Ordered some? /me must remember to double check quantities.....
mbeals 74
Just got mine in the mail today. Based on my 5 minutes of playing with the blinking light code and looking through some examples, it looks like a fun toy to play with
igor 163
I ordered one on 29th or 30th, but still listed as waiting for confirmation. Are there others in same boat (i.e. just patience), or any tips (something I could fix in my request?) Thanks By the way - the free button disappeared several days ago, so assume these are no longer available for free.
mbeals 74
I didn't get my confirmation until Dec 3rd. I believe they check all of these by hand, so it takes a while...especially if you didn't use a corporate or university email address. I also got my order in minutes after this went up on hackaday, so I'm sure I was towards the front of the rush.

They probably canned the samples with the surge of orders. I'm not expecting anything now.
GeekDoc 226
I can't remember when I put in for one, but I got an "order confirmation" on 05 DEC 12. No shipping notice yet, though.
