Better Documentation for Store BoosterPacks

Recommended Posts

I'm in for writing documentation for other boosters as well - I've wanted to add notes to booster packs on several occasions. I love the idea of a minimum requirement from the forum, but some sort of security where someone has to be explicitly granted permissions should work as well - hopefully it wouldn't cause too much trouble for the admins.

Not sure if this helps at all, but I really like how littlebits is using the GIT format for their hardware documentation.

https://github.com/littlebitselectronics/eagle-files/tree/master/INPUT

besides the hardware revisions, we could add a "user" guide and the code?

Each boosterpack to have a folder?

Plus, we would have a wiki as a part of the system.

I'd be willing to help write user guides.

Thanks Larissa.. But I only see schematics board files. I was unable to find hardware documentation.

I mentioned above, www.ipbwiki.com Integrates mediawiki (Wikipedia's base) with invision power board... single sign-on and has roles for editors.

Assign the "booster pack / board" creator editor privileges and off you go.

Abe. that was a good idea..but I keep away from unsupported third parties. One reason is that if ipboard(now 3.3) upgrades.. I'll have to wait for someobe to upgrade ipbwiki too.. that causes incompatibility.

I really like the low profile "no wires" aspect of this boosterpack. I have a couple of DX Extreme and Sparfun breakout boards sitting on the shelf. Do you think it would be possible to solder those boards to the top of this one to use yours as a pass-through to the MSP430? I guess I could remove the LCDs from the DX Extreme boards and move them to yours if the pass-through won't work.

Thanks!

I think you meant to post this somewhere else in the forum.

So did this progress anywhere? I am working my way through collecting information on RobG's last cc2500 board. The links in the store posting erred out until i figured how to hack them, and I've pulled out a lot of info. The silk screens are missing on the boards, so the board images from Eagle are pretty important. I would also be interested in helping by making these gleanings available in one place...

I've put mine in a Google Doc for the time being.

Yes.. I installed a wiki when I had some time last week. Still in progress.

For links that are ending up in an error, make sure you remove the part after the last /, especially something linke p#763836
