wulfman 17
Ok i bought 2 of them mine are white and match the blue ones above. Now first off your documation is HORRABLE i realise your not making bank on these things but it would be nice to see links to schematics on the store page and assembly pics and parts locations with a BOM I hate to buy things and feel the need to reverse engineer them to make them work
wulfman 17
Your missing my point. Links to everything from the product page would be nice. I know what i was buying. I thought when i purchased them i would get the schematic in the enevlope with a BOM. But since it was not there i had to come here for information. Just a round about way to get documentation. What, really? I don't know any company that does that. Certainly not big-wigs like digikey or mouser, or radioshack. Not hobbyist emporiums like Sparkfun or Seeed or adafruit or jeelabs, nobody. The store always has links back to the detailed forum threads for any of the member built boards, including schematic, video, pics, code and what not. Every bit as good as sparkfun does. Though, to be fair, the links on the item page are still pointing to the old (just recently changed) forum posts, so direct links to individual posts send you to the thread first post. Ok.. first, apologies for shooting out like that. It was a bit defensive. Secondly, the store is gateway for members to buy stuff that are being made on the forums here, unlike a big company like cde mentioned. It's people over here designing their stuff and if many are interested, it's put on the Store with a bulk order from Seeed. I keep ordering batches as long as people are interested. It's quick and it works. For $5, there have to be cuts done somewhere. Hopefully, the board works well for you. Ask questions if you want. There was one link broken from the Store since we just upgraded to the new forum software last week. I have since fixed it. I did not realize that until now. Also, welcome to 43oh. - I might move this to "Suggestions" if this thread gets out of text. abecedarian and xv4y
cubeberg 540
This is where I feel like a wiki would be really helpful. If someone thinks more detail would be helpful for others, they can jump in and add it. Editing posts gets a bit tedious. GeekDoc
RobG 1,892
I agree, each BP could get it's own page with subpages for each version and code attachments.

cubeberg 540
As long as it's community-editable - that'd be awesome!

bluehash 1,581
If you guys know of a way to present this in a good way, please provide options below. I'd love to see more. From my research: 1. Wiki - I personally do not like wikis. They require constant lookup, not pleasing to the eye(this is somewhat important to me), although it is only information) and eventually become a mess of links jumping pages. I'm open to the suggestion though. 2. Wordpress - This is a good option. Just like a normal site, categories become sections, with posts in them. Eg: We have the Universal LCD under a category and tutorial as posts under it. This also a wide range of skins I could use.. maybe even sorting the boosterpacks. We will have to figure out signing into wordpress with SSO(single sign on). 3. iPBlog - This is what we use in Stellarisiti(Example).. not as a documentation tool, but as a journal for projects. The only advantage is that it integrates into the skin well.

Something we try to avoid around here, heh. I'll vote in favor of doing the wiki style, but if possible link it to the forum accounts and set it so you have to have some kind of minimum requirement to edit wiki. Prevent us from having to revert them a lot.
Automate 69
My vote is for a Wiki. Yes, you can find examples on the internet of Wikis that are poorly maintained but you can find other examples such as Wikipedia that are well maintained and very useful. It all comes down to the effort put into the Wiki. You can also find forums that are not very useful because they are poorly maintained. What makes the 43oh forum so great is the amount of contributions from its members and the elimination of spam by the moderators.. These same qualities should make a 43oh Wiki a success. As they say "Many hand make light work".
