bluehash 1,581
Hello Everyone, - 43oh is getting bigger. I think this is because search engines are finally able to index the forum. Thanks to cube and sirzusa. - Most of you here now are familiar how ipboard works. Do you like it? Anything that you don't like in ipboard that phpbb3 has, except that phpbb3 is free? - I have enough savings from The 43oh Store, to now get an ipboard license. The biggest issue I have now is that legitimate users get stuck in the spam filter and are not able to post links. Ipboard solves this out the box. Also, full width . The only issue is that we will loose the "Thanks" statistics. - I'm getting feelers that having three sites is a bit of a hassle for users. In a few months, you will be able to use the same login on all three sites, if that matters. --- Is this ok? or will one unified site work? The only problem I see with this is that each community is not about the Launchpad itself, but the chip architecture. Having an LP only site is thinking too narrow. We had a poll a few months back. Most of you did not care. I'd like to change, but if anyone has a good point not to change, now is a good time. Thanks for reading.
cde 334
3 boards with one linked account is nice. One combined board though, will make it harder to find msp430 (or your preferred chip) based talk harder. For reference, I have the "view active topics" link as a bookmark I check daily. With about 10 to 20 new posts a day to check on. Combining the stellaris and c2k posts into that would add alot of noise to it. Philipp
xpg 127
I have gotten quite fond of IPBoard, through the the Stellarisiti forum. So I wouldn't mind a change at all. A common login to all three forums would be very nice. I don't think a unified forum is a good idea, even though I am following all three :-). Well, just my 10 cents. I have the active topics on my quick bar and it's about the only way I view this forum. I'm betting we could port over the thanks stats somehow... but I don't mind if they go away. Plenty of "Awards" we could replace that with.
GeekDoc 226
I'm with the majority here. I'm mostly interested in MSP430/LaunchPad, but I did just get a couple of the Stellaris LaunchPads. Losing "Thanks" would be a hit, especially for the big contributors (I'm looking at you, RobG and oPossum!). Would be nice if there were an equivalent thing to port the ratings to, but not catastrophic otherwise. tl;dr: Go for it!
bluehash 1,581
Ok, thanks everyone for replying. This is more than enough to change. I'll try my best to port over the "Thanks" system. Stay tuned.
touch 34
I'd love to be able to see all the forums in one and have one login across all 3 sites, while I am mainly interested in MSP430 stuff, I like to see the projects done on other platforms, as well as questions and answers asked over there, plus things such as General posts, For Sale, etc, are kinda duplicated across all 3 forums because they have a general subject matter. I also have another suggestion about the template, personally I'd much rather see the forums expand the page width to match the browser, rather than match the width of the header. I do believe IPB has a reputation system that's almost exactly like thanks.
cubeberg 540
I'd definitely like to echo the for sale, deals, etc. I think those would be great in one location. The way I handle topics that I don't follow on the boards is to subscribe to only the forums that I'm interested in. I just don't subscribe to the topics I'm not interested in. jsolarski-backup 22
I like the Idea of having all 1 login for all 3, but I like to keep the posts separate(not including sale trade and offtopic parts), I come to the 43oh forum for msp430 related and now I go to stellaristi for arm info.....I just like the separation (personal preference)

My post is kinda late but I'd like to thank you for the awesome work done with the change to the new forum engine. If I had to suggest something I'd go for the colour theme. Personally I'd like it to have a little more contrast, but its just my taste anyway. Thanks for all your effort!! -- to cde
