Rickta59 589
Just a word of warning for those with the strip, note the direction of the arrow on the strip. Make sure you connect to DIN not the DO. * goes and orders a more powerful magnifying glass * -rick oPossum
RobG 1,892
Small, MSP430F51x1[2] based controller for LED strips (and more.) GeekDoc
RobG 1,892
Attached is a datasheet (provided by Ray,) but it's pretty much useless. Pin assignment seems to be wrong, swapped pin 5 and pin 4, and the specs talk about 2 speeds but there's no access to SET pin. WS2811-5050-RGB.pdf
cubeberg 540
Hm - did you probe the pins on the strip to the device? Should be pretty easy to match those up. Looks like each requires a capacitor - any idea what value? I saw 104 on the datasheet, not sure what value that is though. We'd need to put that on any booster or BOB (although I see you've added the pads on the one you put together).
RobG 1,892
The LEDs are working using pin assignment from post #75, but they are not working using datasheet's pin out. If you look at the connections in the close-up picture, you will see that the datasheet is wrong, all anodes are on pin 5. Also, pin 3 has 2 wires, which I think is logic's power and SET pin pulled high (slow mode.) The caps are 0.1 bypass caps.

spirilis 1,265
If you guys give this group buy another go I'll definitely be interested FYI...
rockets4kids 204
I am interested in 8 meters of the strip plus a few of the singles, so that should help get things going...
RobG 1,892
Which ones? 60LED/m non-waterproof or 30LED/m waterproof? I would probably go for few meters of the 30/m one, which would be around ~$
rockets4kids 204
Word on IRC was that the last batch was 60 LED/m waterproof, which is the one I think I want.
Philipp 56
I'm interested in 1m-2m of the 60pcs/m version, too. 1.5m would be ideal Do you have some left, and how much would be the total cost incl. international shipping?
spirilis 1,265
Hmm, probably the 60 LED/m one for me...... I could see some use for a waterproof version but not at the moment.
GeekDoc 226
Word on IRC was that the last batch was 60 LED/m waterproof, which is the one I think I want. Nope. I just got mine, and the strips are definitely not waterproof. Which ones? 60LED/m non-waterproof or 30LED/m waterproof? I would probably go for few meters of the 30/m one, which would be around ~$11 Hmmm... I might go for a couple meters of that as well!
