Yes, for the individual led option, 20 cents per led (each is a rgb led with builtin controller).   For the tape/reel version, It is sold by the meter, has 60 leds per meter, so cost breaks down to

Just FYI, parts are here, strips were tested and are OK. I didn't expect them to arrive so quickly, so I am not sure if I will be able to ship tomorrow.     Those are very cool LEDs BTW, one wir

I'd like a meter of the strip if available. If not a combination of small chunks would be fine too.

Paypal cash is standing by. I'm in california.

Is the strip set up so each LED is individually addressable? Or does each one need its own data wire? I want a bunch either way, just curious.

Not addressable, per say. They can all have individually chosen colors, but are cascading, so you send data down the strip in order to set each one.

Only one data wire per strip needed.

OK, finally got my test strip and it works great @5V.

At 3.3V, the LEDs are dimmer, color is uneven, and white has orange-pink hue (blue LED suffers the most @3.3V.)

It does look good if you want to use it as a halloween/fall decoration light, but for me this is a deal breaker (single LED purchase.)

Are you guys still interested?

I was thinking to go with the strip only and if one LED is needed, just unsolder one from the strip.

The strip you see in the picture is 30 LEDs/m, the one I was thinking of buying is 60 LEDs/m.

Well, I would like to use single supply if possible. The project for which I need those strips will use 5V supply, so strip is not a problem. Loose LEDs on the other hand, were ment for things like booster packs. I didn't test them with LP's 3.6V, I will cut the strip tomorrow and see if there's a difference. Blue LEDs are usually 3.2-3.4V, so that 0.3V may make the difference.

UPDATE: They look pretty decent @ 3.6V so I guess I will go ahead and order them.
