dacoffey 5
Here is a project built using a 430 to power a USB controllable 8 outlet AC relay box. http://david-adam-coffey.com/blog/ac-relay-box SirZusa, jsolarski-backup and bluehash
bluehash 1,581
Looks good! Just make sure Bean does not get his paws in there.
dacoffey 5
It is definitely not UL approved I did manage to get it all stuffed neatly inside the 4 gang box however.
GeekDoc 226
I'm working on a similar project to control five outlets in different patterns. The relay modules I'm using are singles, but very similar to your 8-gang module. Did you get the module from DealExtreme? I've also seen some nice SSR modules on ebay. Mine is not USB-connected, so I have to include a 5vdc adapter in the 3-gang box I'm using. Hmmm... I guess i should post an update to my project.
cde 334
That's a fairly horrible way to bridge the common wire. A better way, twist two of the wires together into the same screw terminal, one coming from the wall, and another short enough to reach the next screw terminal, and repeat. dacoffey 5
cde: I had thought about that, but the 14 gauge wire I was using barely went in the terminal. Two strands definitely wouldn't fit. GeekDoc: They are Sain Smart relays from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0057OC5WK/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=cogsmithanaly-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B0057OC5WK&adid=09EH8D5B1DRAY3JHJW6W&
GeekDoc 226
DealExtreme has same/similar: http://dx.com/p/8-channel-5v-relay-modu ... 24?item=28 Actually, they have many relay modules, in many voltages: http://dx.com/s/relay+module.html?PageSize=100 The ones I bought seem to be of good quality. I would recommend any of these modules, as they seem to be from the same source. Good quality, easy to work with. tingo
