If anyone can recommend a good oven, I can invest in one. SA is a good candidate too.

Rob, is your Ethernet board one sided too?

Don't ovens work on two-sided boards as well? I heard the solder paste held the parts at first, then surface tension or something held them as the solder melted.

There are almost 40 SMD parts on the board. Most of them are on the bottom layer, but the most expensive, requiring precise placement one on the top layer. Using oven to solder my original board would be a nightmare and there could be a lot of rejects.

 

This looks like an upside down job (which apparently QC did not catch.)
