LaunchPad Pin Assignment

Recommended Posts

Rick, thank you for the pins number.

It seems that Energia has defined P2.0 for CS and UCBA isn't implemented:

/**
* File: usci_spi.c - msp430 USCI SPI implementation
*/

/**
* spi_initialize() - Configure USCI UCB0 for SPI mode
*
* P2.0 - CS (active low)
* P1.5 - SCLK
* P1.6 - MISO aka SOMI
* P1.7 - MOSI aka SIMO
*
*/

Please comment this schematic guide to use Energia with the LaunchPad v.1.5 an the MSP430G2553.
Is there enough space to show the wiring connections to J3? It would be nice to especially have the connection to the TX and RX J3 pins and show how the position of the jumpers changes the MSP430 connections.

These images are great. Nice job. ... My only concern is that people with a version 1.4 board or older will fry their chips. On those boards the first two jumpers are are VCC (3.5volts) and TX. Turning those jumpers sideways could potentially cook the pin. Maybe a disclaimer is in order. If you have a 1.4 board, don't ever turn your first two jumpers 90 degrees.

Good point! I suggest that we display them in a "save factory default position" and put a big fat circle around it pointing to a foot note explaining all the other positions and when they apply.
