pine 140
About half year ago i bought a set of rechargeable battery with charger set. It includes 4 AA size with 2700mA. One of these 4 battery is dead now. The charger showing an red light at the bank when it is put into the charger. I feel bad cuz the very reason i invested in this kit is i thought rechargeable battery is better to the environment by reuse, unfortunately 25% of this set didn't last longer than half year. It is for a model car which i modified from wired control to wireless. Only played with it a little on weekend and when children from neighbourhood visit (their eyes shine everytime they saw an rc tracked vehicle!) Needless to say there is no way to find a replacement of just one battery, but at least a set of four, and three standby units does not help much as i needed four. Perhaps i can find someone who have a similar charger and give him two... Sorry for the rant.. wondered if someone had similar experience? I mean, just half year with very low usage? hlipka 11
I own a charger with a "refresh" mode. Basically it charges and discharges the battery until the measured capacity doesn't change significantly. Recently I had a battery the charger wouldn't recognize - it had a voltage of about 0.8 volts. I charged it with 15 milliamps (which is what my home-made bench power supply delivers for LED tests) for about 10 minutes. After that, the charger accepted it, and it had it's full capacity back after only 2 cycles. You might want to try this - just charge it manually with a low current until the battery voltage is high enough, and then put it into the charger. It might just be that it somehow got discharged the most of all 4 batteries, and therefore died first. pine and bluehash
