juani_c 66
In case somebody want to use that Launchpad's feature I made the connector with some 26/6 staples bluehash, gatesphere, jsolarski and 3 others
simpleavr 399
very clever, i got to try this too. i see u haven't solder it yet. i would instead try different part's "legs" for a proper fit. not resistors (the leads may be too soft), may be some particular diode legs and bent them to shape. it should be stiffer but staples may be too stiff and may not act well to solder. thanks for such a great idea. juani_c 66
thanks simpleavr!!! It is soldered on the other side of the board...You are rigth about the LED's legs, those might work. Perhaps I'll try to use them with the other Launchpad I have.
bluehash 1,581
juani_c, impressive.. I thought you couldn't solder staples, but apparently you can.
juani_c 66
It seems that you can, I used some homemade flux and a solder with a very thin tip, this is what it looks like the solder side, by the way I prove it and it works fine, I was afraid of cold solder joints
GeekDoc 226
Nice work! And great photos! I never thought of this (was instead looking for a 0.5mm x6 header). I'm going to give this a try with the LED leads suggested earlier. I knew I saved the trimmings for something other than just breadboard jumpers! One question: I see in your second photo the target board is connected upside-down. Is this the correct way to connect, or just done for photo? (Don't want to wreck my boards!) The correct connection is the other way round
gatesphere 45
Very cool, and a really good idea

zeke 693
That connector is a simple 0.050" spaced header which means that it's nothing exotic - just tiny. MDFLY has them suuuuuuuuper cheep. Male connectors. Female connectors. Cue the MC Hammer song "Can't Touch This". .................. Can't Touch This! Don't boo me. I just need more sleep.
