@Kabron  First of all, welcome to the forum.,   Based on your posts thus far, it appears that you may not fully understand what this board/community is all about. It is a forum for sharing experienc

Here's some basic JD-T1800 code for testing purposes...   ...and a short video     main.c #include #include "ST7735.h" #define JDT1800_WIDTH 128 #define JDT1800_HEIGHT 160 #define JD

First try, we've got color! Well, it's all gibberish now, but it's a start. ST7735's documentation has 167 pages   The display below is 1.8" TFT 128 x 160, JD-T1800

Got a new batch of Color LCD Booster Pack boards.

The board was revised and will require small code change, CS pin was moved from P1.2 to P1.0 (here's the reason why.)

Also gone are Nokia displays and stuff that was not used.

2x2 header is not necessary anymore (and will not be included in the kit) since header pads are shorted by default (USCI is a default setup.) Backlight resistor and memory HOLD resistors are also shorted (HOLD -> Vcc.)

HOLD pins can now be used on both memory chips.

Switches have now optional RC de-bouncers.

New boards will be used ONLY for the kit, PCB version will remain the same.

Rob,

Great work. I just got my -27 red board today and I have a few questions.

First, it seems there is a problem with the link on the Store page for the Color LCD Booster Pack board. When you click on it a forum page is brought up but then quickly switches to a message that says the page can't be found. Both links on the store page do this.

I was wondering if there is an assembly instructions page. It appears that there are different versions and the image I found for the schematic doesn't agree with earlier posts. For example, I'm not sure if the -27 artwork needs the hardware fix.

I'm also not sure which memory chips should be used.

And is IC1 required for non-Nokia displays?

Finally, can you suggest a part number for the tactile switches?

I'm looking forward to getting this cutie working...!!

Here are some tips on soldering LCD panel.

Put the PCB and LCD on a foam or cardboard and then put two pins in the guiding holes.
Slightly push or pull LCD module to align the pads.
Apply little flux in the middle and press with a finger.
Solder few middle pads, quick touch should do the trick.
Apply more flux and use screwdriver to apply pressure before soldering remaining pads.

Also, put a piece of paper towel between PCB and LCD to remove any remaining flux (don't pull LCD ribbon too high, you may break it.)

Hope this helps.
