Serial LCD adapter - part deux

Here are 2 more versions of my serial LCD backpack adapter.

 

1. Same as the original one but with all through hole parts, for those who are still afraid of SMD :)

 

2. "Smart" LCD Serial adapter:

  • a) On-board MCU, any 20 pin MSP430 (I'm using low-cost MSP430G2203)
    B) 2 configuration jumpers, allowing switching of functionality (UART, SPI, I2C, etc.) without the need to program MCU
    c) Programming header
    d) On-board LDO, SOT89 or SOT23-DBV (TPS77033.) Keep in mind that the LCD and input signals have to be 3.3V.

"Smart" version will most likely be sold pre-populated with 2203, shipping to b# next week.
