mnpumar 2
Hi everyone, I am a student at the University of California at Berkeley, and I came here to do some research for a project. I posted a question about it here: http://www.43oh.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=175 if anyone is interested I am a 3rd year Electrical Engineering and Computer Science major ( we have a joint program here). I found out about the MSP430 during a lab section, and I have been intrigued ever since. I ordered a launch-pad on Friday, so hopefully I'll be getting it in the mail sometime soon so I can get started with my project! -Matthew
GeekDoc 226
Welcome, Matthew! Lots of good info here. I'm sure you'll get an answer to your first question quickly. I ordered a launch-pad on Friday, so hopefully I'll be getting it in the mail sometime soon so I can get started with my project! If you ordered from a reseller (Digikey, Mouser, etc.), you should have your LaunchPad soon. Unfortunately, if you ordered direct from TI, Launchpads have been backordered since they were released. I am waiting on some that I ordered back in August. If you're in a hurry, order from a reseller that lists them as in-stock. Best of luck at UC Berkeley. I had a girlfriend years ago that went to Menlo College, down the road a bit, so I've been through that area a lot. -Doc
mnpumar 2
Thanks for the reply! I placed my order at DigiKey, their website said they had over 100 in stock, so hopefully I won't have any problems. I also ordered a few more MSP430G2231IN14's to go with it

GeekDoc 226
I also ordered a few more MSP430G2231IN14's to go with it Just so you know, TI has a very generous sample program. See link #3 in this forum post. I once ordered 2x MSP430G2231, 2x MSP430G2211, and 5x voltage regulators. TI sent them via FedEx two days later, absolutely free (as in beer)! It's a great resource they offer, and I would think students is one of the categories TI is targeting. Don't abuse it. -Doc
