Is anyone doing work on the CC2500 other than GW. I found this link and each unit is priced at $1.8. Shipping is ~11 via China post and ~$25 via EMS.

I was wondering if we could do a group buy(I'll organize). I'll have it shipped to me and then to you guys.

Cost breakup for 20 units:

Unit cost: : $1.8

Postage within US: $1.71 via first class mail

Shipping from China breakup: $12/20 = 0.6

Total: 1.8+1.71+0.6 = $4.11

If the "parcel" (bubble-padded envelope?) is too thick (or contains a fragile object) to be fed into the stamp canceling machine, it will have to be hand-canceled, which costs slightly more than a letter.

The first few times I had mailed some things I had sold, I got confused by the USPS's convoluted definitions (what qualifies as a parcel or letter), and without knowing it, quoted my customers the wrong postage. When I got to the post office, I found out that the package I was about to send had a slightly higher price on it, and I lost a few cents on the item I had sold.

$1.71 sounds about right, I just wanted to know if you were sure that was the correct price.

I may regret this, 'cuz I sure don't need more projects that don't provide income, but:

I'm about 60% done with an adaptation layer to present CCxx00 radios with a generic packet interface, something like a MAC layer. Part of the hold-up is lack of an affordable radio interface (hence my interest in HylianSavior's CC1101 boosterpack). When done, it would be something roughly comparable to SimpliciTI. I'd open source this, put it on SourceForge kinda like mspgcc and PyXB.

What the heck, sign me up for two (for now), and maybe I'll spend some more time on this. (I'm envisioning a half dozen launchpads strewn around the house, shooting environment data---temperature, humidity, ambient light---to one of my servers every minute or so.)
