kenemon 29
How hard would it be to use smartie with it? It would be a great sized sensor monitor, even wireless
bluehash 1,581
Does LCD smartie work on OLEDs? Edit: I think I can make a crude dll for LCD smartie.
cde 334
Does LCD smartie work on OLEDs?Edit: I think I can make a crude dll for LCD smartie. LCD Smartie is basically a communication protocol. You design the hardware right, LCD Smartie could work with a giant wood panel and motor based display.
ike 53
lcdhype - http://lcdhype.condense.de/ is better with graphic LCDs than LCD Smartie. bluehash
bluehash 1,581
Thanks ike. I took a look at LCDHype. It's a bit confusing to use, but I'll consider it.
bluehash 1,581
I managed to get the OLED to work with LCD smartie. Talks to the Launchpad via the RX/TX emulator@9600 baud. All you need is a custom dll. Thanks to Rickta for his simple serial code. Large Font showing drives on PC Network, uptime and CPU speed. CPU stats, small font. Demo, small font. greeeg 460
Wow that looks really nice. I've played around with those OLEDs before the only issue I had is that you can't read back data when using SPI. Which rules out using a lower cost MSPs (G2231) I noticed in the pictures in this thread the screen is blue. But in the store and your first post it is white. Will there be two options? or is the blue colour just your testing rig?

There are two spi modes.. 3 wire and 4 wire. Robg is trying to get 4-wire working in his4ch Voltmeter project. You can read back data in the 4 wire mode. Is there any reason you want to read back data? I noticed in the pictures in this thread the screen is blue. But in the store and your first post it is white. Will there be two options? or is the blue colour just your testing rig? It is white. My white balance was a little off. My little light box is below, made with cardboard and tissue paper. If anyone needs tips, let me know. larsie
