  1. After joining this forum over 3 years ago I thought it overdue that I say hello and contribute something that I hope you will find useful. Attached is a picture of simple booster packs that I make. But are they really a "booster pack"? Hmmm. Debatable! They are cheap and easy to make and I have made 5 of them. I use them all the time because the whole of each project, including the MSP430, is attached to the booster pack. This means I can switch between projects without re-wiring, I can change the model of MSP430 in seconds and I only need one Launchpad. You can see from the pic
  2. Just watched The Martian. Great movie. Amazed with the "chemist" Mars expedition team member who was requested to make a DIY explosive device in about half hour's time that features: - USB power - timing with RTC for count down (not sure about this as someone announced power up panel something before the device is triggered) - guaranteed to work giving the condition they are facing - professionally done that doesn't look DIY at all Yeah it's movie but still.. it is the spirit that we care about. Good DIY job! Btw Matt Damon is so special! He got rescued every time in the big
  3. I'm new to 43oh, but I've read threads here a number of times and it has been a great reference. I wanted my own application board with a built-in programmer, so I designed the application board, and used the launchpad schematics (v1.4, I believe) as the programmer. I have printed the board and populated it. I've been looking around, and I am not actually sure how to program the firmware onto the board. I know that TI has its "firmware updater," but I think this requires that the board already has firmware loaded onto it. The programming portion of the launchpads have a programmer MSP
  4. This looks like a very interesting project ;-) It is an MSP430F5338 based DIY tweezers style LCR meter for measuring SMD component values. Source: Cheap 'n good LCR meter
